Job DescriptionInventory Control Supervisor is primarily responsible for overseeing the management and organization of production, engineering, and/or Government materials. Their duties include monitoring inventory levels, tracking inventory movements, implementing inventory control procedures, conducting audits, and ensuring accurate record-keeping. Additionally, they are expected to possess exceptional leadership skills to motivate and supervise a team of inventory control staff, providing guidance, training, and support as needed.Worker TypeRegularPosition ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement strategies to optimize inventory levels to meet customer demand while minimizing carrying costsManage and maintain inventory management systems to accurately track inventory movements, adjustments, and discrepanciesConduct regular audits and reconciliations to ensure physical inventory matches records in the inventory management systemProvide guidance and training to inventory control staff, ensuring adherence to best practices and company policiesGenerate reports on inventory levels, stock movements, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for management to facilitate decision‐makingIdentify potential risks related to inventory management, such as stock shortages or excess inventory, and develop strategies to mitigate these risksCollaborate with other departments such as procurement, production, planning, and logistics to ensure seamless coordination of inventory‑related activities across the organizationOther duties as assignedBasic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)High school diploma or minimum of 5–8 years of equivalent combination of education, training, and experienceAt least 2 years of previous experience in a supervisory or leadership positionStrong knowledge of inventory management principles, including inventory control methods, inventory valuation, cycle counting, and ABC analysisAbility to accurately track and record inventory levels, identify discrepancies, and reconcile inventory recordsProficiency in analyzing data, interpreting trends, and making data‑driven decisionsAbility to effectively prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and maintain organized inventory recordsFamiliarity with inventory management software or systems, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Excel or similar spreadsheet software for data analysis and reportingOther Qualifications & Desired CompetenciesBachelor's degree preferred in business administration, logistics, supply chain management, or a related fieldExperience with Oracle ERP desirableKnowledge of Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologiesAPICS training and/or certification desirableUses vision to think beyond the immediate situation, explore multiple potential paths, and adapt decision‑making style based on the situational circumstancesInspires, motivates and empowers people to deliver organizational goals, while also delivering value back to employeesBrings organizational values to life using personality, uniqueness and the creation of a shared visionAble to excel in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environmentDisplays strong initiative and drive to accomplish goals and meet company objectivesCommitted to learning from mistakes and driven to improve and enhance performance of oneself, others, and the companyPhysical DemandsAbility to work in a manufacturing environment (Constant)Required to sit and stand for long periods; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard (Frequent)May operate dolly, pallet jack, and/or forklift/reach truck in loading and unloading supplies and equipment (Occasional)Special RequirementsU.S. Citizen required.
