AYA Rooftop Restaurant Server

The AYA Rooftop Restaurant Server is responsible for providing attentive, knowledgeable, and personalized service to guests, ensuring an exceptional dining experience in a high-end restaurant setting. This role involves taking accurate food and beverageorders, offering menu recommendations with a focus on seasonal menu selections and wine pairings, and delivering orders promptly and correctly. The Food Server must maintain a professional, polished demeanor, anticipate guest needs, and work closely with the culinary and service teams to uphold the restaurant's standards of excellence.

Essential Functions:

  • Redefine hospitality at Graton Resort & Casino while living, supporting, and promoting our values.
  • Perform responsibilities in accordance with all company standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of all food and beverage offerings to be able to explain the menu to guests with confidence and enthusiasm.
  • Follow the steps of service as outlined by the department on a consistent basis.
  • Take accurate food and beverage orders, including recommendations for seasonal menu items, cooking preferences, and wine pairings.
  • Proficient use of the POS system.
  • Deliver food and beverages promptly, ensuring correct orders and presentation.
  • Provide attentive, friendly, and personalized service throughout the dining experience.
  • Maintain an organized and clean work area, including the dining room and service stations.
  • Anticipate guest needs and address any concerns or requests in a timely manner.
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service and accurate orders.
  • Process payments accurately and handle cash or credit transactions following company procedures.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation standards.
  • Assist with setting up and breaking down the dining area as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests, team members, and management in both written and verbal form. Must be able to speak, read, and write fluently in English.
  • Three (3) years of experience in gourmet, fine dining, and/or high-volume restaurants.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must possess or obtain a Responsible Beverage Service State Certification.
  • Must possess or obtain a California Food Handler Certification.
  • Ability to handle a flexible work schedule, working weekends, holidays, and all shifts.

Physical Requirements:

  • Dexterity: full use of arms and hands to hold, grab, pick up objects up to 7 hours/day 88% of shift
  • Standing: unassisted up to 7 hours/day for 88% of the shift
  • Walking: up to 7 hours/day for 88% of the shift
  • Bending: 2 hours/day for 25% of the shift
  • Twisting: 2 hours/day for 25% of the shift
  • Climbing: including ladders, less than 1 hour/day for 13% of the shift
  • Kneeling: 1 hour/day for 13% of the shift
  • Squatting: 1 hour/day for 13% of the shift
  • Carrying: must be able to carry full trays of food & beverages overhead- up to 25 lbs. 2 hours/day for 25% of the shift
  • Lift/Carry/Push/Pull lift up to 50 lbs.: 1 hour/day for 13% of the shift
  • Push up to 100 lbs. using a push cart to put groceries away: 1 hour/day for 13% of the shift
  • Reaching above the shoulders and other hand arm use: 1 hour/day for 13% of the shift
