Art Provider (Classified)

The art provider (classified) will be responsible for developing in each student an interest in and the ability for creative expression in visual terms or performing arts, using skills and techniques of artistic expression consistent with school guidelines; to develop aesthetic understandings and appreciations; to discover and develop talents of students in the field of art. Other details of assignment include teaching knowledge and skills in art with the assistance of the classroom teacher, providing experiences by which students develop aesthetic concepts and appreciations and the ability to make qualitative judgments about art, providing instruction that is developed collaboratively with grade level teams to integrate STEAM concepts and magnet inquiry units, demonstrating techniques in activities such as drawing and painting, demonstrating a variety of "masters" techniques, knowing the fundamentals and different approaches to varied techniques and mediums, instructing students in proper care and use of tools and equipment, organizing storage areas and controlling use of materials, equipment, and tools to prevent loss or abuse and to minimize time required for distribution and collection, selecting and requisitioning books, instructional materials, tools, and planning and presenting art displays and exhibitions designed to exhibit students' work for the school and community.
