EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITYSanta Rosa Junior College is accepting applications on a continuous basis to establish a pool for associate faculty assignments. Assignments may be temporary, part‑time, on‑call, immediate or as needed. The Sonoma County Junior College District does not offer remote‑only assignments.Compensation and BenefitsAssignments are part‑time and hourly. A part‑time faculty assignment may not exceed 67% of a full‑time assignment.Starting hourly rate: see hourly salary schedules or contact Human Resources for details.Salary placement is based on academic background, vocational experience, and teaching experience (depending on discipline) and as documented in application materials. Initial step placement will be at Step1 pending evaluation of experience.Compensation for assigned classes is paid over the duration of the assignment.Medical insurance is offered to eligible faculty. Additional plan information is available on the Benefits page.Sick leave is accrued on a pro‑rated basis. See Article18 of the AFA Contract for details.Retirement options include CalSTRS Defined Benefit, CalSTRS Cash Balance, and Social Security. Eligibility is determined by prior CalSTRS membership status.ResponsibilitiesProvide excellent instruction and faculty support to students, which may include evening, weekend, online, hybrid, or off‑campus assignments.Provide academic assistance and related services to students during scheduled office hours.Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff.Maintain currency in field(s) of expertise.Associate faculty focus primarily on providing instruction and/or student services.Associate faculty may be asked to perform additional district or department service such as committee work, evaluations, student learning outcomes assessment, and hiring committees for additional compensation.Apply to the All Faculty Association Contract for further information.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential job functions.QualificationsSensitivity to, and understanding of, the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.Minimum qualifications for Work Experience instructors or coordinators are the same as for any discipline in which work experience may be provided at the college (refer to the Minimum Qualifications Handbook for Faculty and Administrators).Required experience and credentials in one or more of the following areas:Administration of JusticeAgriculture/Agricultural Production (Animal Science and Horticulture) or Environmental Technologies (Sustainable Agriculture)Business Administration/ManagementHealth SciencesComputer Information Systems/Computer ScienceConstruction Management/TechnologyCounseling: Human ServicesCulinary Arts/Food TechnologyOffice TechnologiesChild DevelopmentFor disciplines outside the list, file for equivalency.
