Compliance & Risk Manager – People Data Review

Location: Remote (US) — PST/Bay Area preferred

Pay: $85–105/hr (W2)

Duration: 6-month contract with possible extension/conversion

Schedule: 40 hrs/week, no OT

Start: ASAP/June 2026

Overview:

Seeking an experienced Compliance & Risk Manager to support the People Risk, Privacy & Compliance team. This role focuses on reviewing privacy, employment, and AI-related risks tied to people data and partnering with legal, HR, and technical teams to ensure compliance across new initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead risk assessments involving people data, privacy, employment, and AI compliance
• Review new products/processes for compliance risks and recommend solutions
• Partner with legal, HR, engineering, and compliance teams
• Support and manage high-volume People Data Review workflows
• Help implement “compliance by design” practices
• Track program risks, issues, metrics, and escalations
• Communicate updates clearly to stakeholders and leadership
• Ensure projects move quickly while maintaining compliance standards

Required Skills & Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in risk management, compliance, privacy, or internal audit
• Strong knowledge of privacy and employment regulations (GDPR, CCPA, etc.)
• Experience conducting risk assessments in fast-paced environments
• Understanding of data processing, systems, and technical infrastructure
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal guidance
• Experience partnering cross-functionally with legal and technical teams

• Experience in a tech company environment
• People data privacy and/or user data privacy expertise
• Employment compliance experience
• Experience managing complex, cross-functional programs
