Food Service Supervisor Sourdough & Co

  2026-05-18     Sourdough & Co Blackhawk     Santa Rosa,CA
Description:

Job Description:

Are you a food service professional who takes pride in premium quality food and loves leading a team by example? Sourdough & Co. in Blackhawk is looking for energetic, detail-oriented Shift Supervisors to act as our "floor captains" and ensure our upscale sandwich shop runs flawlessly.

This is a hands-on leadership role. When the owner is off-site, you are the eyes and ears of the shop—ensuring that our signature crusty sourdough sandwiches, fresh salads, and premium sides are served with a strict sense of urgency and top-tier customer service.

Note: This position focuses entirely on floor leadership and team workflow. It does not include back-end administrative tasks like hiring, firing, scheduling, or formal discipline, making this role 100% eligible to participate in our employee tip pool!

What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities):

  • Lead the Floor: Direct the team during peak lunch and dinner rushes to balance tickets, keep ticket times low (aiming for under 5–10 minutes), and maintain a smooth operational flow.
  • Proactive Teamwork: Monitor the floor constantly. If one station is slammed, proactively direct or assist team members to shift focus and support each other so nobody is left carrying the rush alone.
  • Maintain Upscale Standards: Conduct regular walk-throughs of the dining room and beverage stations. Ensure the fountain drinks, iced tea, and specialty lemonade are continuously stocked, clean, and inviting.
  • Quality Control: Ensure every sandwich and salad leaves the line looking premium and matching Sourdough & Co.'s high standards.
  • Open/Close Excellence: Manage register drawer counts, secure the facility, and ensure the shop is perfectly prepped and cleaned for the next shift.

What We're Looking For:

  • At least 1–2 years of experience in a fast-casual restaurant, deli, or upscale food service environment (Leadership/Shift Lead experience is highly preferred).
  • A proactive mindset—someone who naturally sees a task that needs to be done (like wiping down a counter or restocking a station) and takes action.
  • Strong communication skills and a friendly, customer-first attitude.
  • Ability to maintain a sense of urgency and calm under pressure during a busy rush.
  • Must have or be willing to obtain a California Food Handler Certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Reliable availability, including weekends.

Benefits & Perks:

  • Competitive Pay + Tips: Base hourly wage plus a full share of the daily tip pool.
  • Flexible Shifts: Great for maintaining a strong work-life balance.
  • No Late Nights: Our hours allow you to get home at a reasonable time compared to traditional fast-food or full-service restaurant roles.
  • Meal Discounts: Enjoy our premium menu at a heavily discounted rate.
  • Growth Opportunities: As a new location, we love to reward leadership and promote from within as we grow!
