About the Company

We have been hired by a 100+ year-old Bay Area HVAC and plumbing company to find an experienced Controller to lead accounting, job costing, and financial reporting for a complex, multi-division operation. They provide services across commercial construction, HVAC, plumbing, engineering, BIM, and service & repair.

This role is on-site in Berkeley, CA!

About the Role

• Lead job costing, WIP, and percentage-of-completion accounting
• Partner with operations on project margins, labor costs, and pricing
• Oversee accounting for construction, service, and maintenance agreements
• Managing bank scrutiny, new line of credit, and quarterly financial covenants
• Manage AR/AP, cash flow forecasting, and internal controls
• Improve systems, reporting, and financial processes

Qualifications

• 8+ years accounting experience
• Experience with $10-20M revenue companies
• Strong cost accounting, WIP, percentage-of-completion, lien release experience
• Experience in HVAC, plumbing, construction, or specialty contracting
• Vista Viewpoint software experience preferred

Compensation

• $120k-$175k/yr+ base depending on experience
• Year-end profitability bonus ($5-10k/yr typical)
