Our Estate Servers play a vital role in delivering a seamless and elevated dining experience across multiple outlets, reflecting the refined yet welcoming spirit of Meadowood.

Position Summary

The Estate Server is a dynamic, hybrid role responsible for delivering exceptional food and beverage service across multiple outlets, including Terrace Café (pool service), Forum (fine dining), and Banquets (events and private functions).

This role requires versatility, strong service intuition, and the ability to adapt service style-from relaxed and approachable to polished and formal-while consistently embodying Meadowood's standards of excellence.

The Estate Server serves as an ambassador of Napa Valley hospitality, creating memorable experiences that inspire guests to return.

Major Responsibilities & Work Activities

Guest Experience

  • Welcome and engage guests with warmth and professionalism
  • Provide attentive, personalized service tailored to the outlet and guest experience
  • Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly and thoughtfully
  • Handle special requests with care and attention to detail
  • Ensure guest satisfaction throughout the dining experience
  • Communicate guest feedback, comments, or concerns to leadership

Service Execution

  • Execute proper steps of service across all outlets:
    • Terrace Café / Pool: relaxed, efficient, and personable service
    • Forum: refined, detail-oriented, fine dining service
    • Banquets: structured, team-driven service for events and functions
  • Take accurate food and beverage orders and deliver in a timely manner
  • Maintain strong knowledge of menus, wine, cocktails, and resort offerings
  • Prepare and present checks accurately; process payments per standards

Operations & Team Support

  • Complete opening, closing, and side work duties as assigned
  • Set, clear, and reset tables; maintain clean and organized service areas
  • Polish and maintain service ware (glassware, flatware, china)
  • Assist with event setup, breakdown, and furniture/equipment movement
  • Collaborate with team members across departments to ensure seamless service
  • Attend pre-service meetings, trainings, and departmental meetings

Compliance & Standards

  • Follow all Meadowood policies and service standards
  • Maintain knowledge of California liquor laws and responsible alcohol service
  • Uphold safety, sanitation, and emergency procedures
  • Protect company property and minimize breakage

Experience Required

  • Minimum 2-4 years of food & beverage service experience
  • At least 1-2 years in fine dining or luxury hospitality preferred
  • Experience in high-volume or event service (banquets) is a plus

Education, Certifications, Licenses

  • Ability to obtain:
    • TIPS Certification
    • California Food Handler Certification

Special Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to adapt service style across multiple outlets
  • Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of food, wine, and beverage service
  • Familiarity with Napa Valley and luxury hospitality standards preferred
  • Ability to work efficiently in both independent and team-based environments

Communication & Technical Skills

  • Strong verbal communication skills in English (bilingual a plus)
  • Ability to engage guests confidently and professionally
  • Basic POS and computer knowledge
  • Strong cash handling and basic math skills

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and carry trays (up to 25 lbs.)
  • Frequent bending, lifting, and movement throughout shift

Schedule Requirements

  • Flexible schedule including:
    • Days and evenings
    • Weekends and holidays
  • Ability to work across multiple outlets based on business needs

Compensation:

The starting hourly rate for this position is $18.50 per hour.

  • This is the rate Meadowood Napa Valley reasonably expects to pay. Final compensation will depend on factors such as experience, education, and other job-related qualifications. This position is eligible for service charge distributions and gratuities in accordance with company policy. Total compensation varies and is not guaranteed.
