The Role

We're partnering with a large, multi-unit retail organization to identify a Regional Human Resources Manager to support a high-volume store network across Northern and Central California. This individual will serve as a strategic and hands-on HR partner to field leadership, driving people initiatives that support operational performance, employee engagement, and organizational growth.

This is a highly visible role supporting a broad geographic footprint—ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, decentralized environment and enjoys being in the field.

What You'll Do

  • Partner closely with Regional and District Leaders to drive HR strategy across a multi-state/region store fleet
  • Serve as a trusted advisor on all employee relations matters, ensuring consistency, fairness, and risk mitigation
  • Lead investigations and provide guidance on complex employee issues
  • Support and execute talent strategies including workforce planning, succession planning, and leadership development
  • Drive performance management processes and coach leaders on feedback, accountability, and team effectiveness
  • Partner on recruiting strategy for key field leadership roles
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local labor laws (with strong California exposure)
  • Analyze trends and metrics to inform business decisions and proactively address challenges
  • Lead and support change management initiatives across the region
  • Travel regularly to stores to build relationships, assess team health, and support leadership in real time

What We're Looking For

  • 5–10+ years of progressive HR experience, ideally within multi-unit retail or field-based environments
  • Strong employee relations experience in high-volume, fast-paced organizations
  • Proven ability to influence and coach field leadership (District/Regional level)
  • Experience supporting large, geographically dispersed teams
  • Comfortable operating both strategically and tactically
  • Strong working knowledge of California employment law
  • Ability to travel frequently across the assigned region

Why This Role

  • Opportunity to support a large-scale, nationally recognized retail organization
  • High level of autonomy with direct impact on field performance and culture
  • Broad regional scope with exposure to senior field leadership
  • Fast-moving environment with real opportunity to drive change
