Exciting Opportunity for Histology Tech Job Description: - Join a dynamic team dedicated to excellence in laboratory science! - Position: Histology Technician - Shift: Night 5x8-Hour (23:00 - 08:30) - Start Date: ASAP - Key Responsibilities: - Perform grossing, embedding, and microtomy of various specimens. - Conduct routine and special stains, including automated IHC. - Prepare frozen sections and mount on glass slides. - Ensure quality tissue processing using both automatic and manual techniques. - Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for optimal patient care. - Requirements: - Minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital setting (hardstop for grossing experience). - Preferred certifications: ASCP-HT, Associate's Degree in Science. - Strong background in histology skills such as: - Grossing and fixation - Tissue processing and staining - Microtomy techniques (frozen and paraffin wax sections) - Knowledge of thin prep, cell block, and cytospin for cytology specimens. - Work Environment: - Fast-paced, acute care hospital environment. - Interact with various patient age groups: adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. - Opportunities to enhance your skills in a collaborative setting. - Patient Ratios: - Days: 1:1 - Nights: 1:1 - Schedule: - Weekend shift requirement: Sunday-Thursday Why Catalytic Solutions (CatSol): At CatSol, we connect dedicated therapists with rewarding assignments across the country.
