Mead & Hunt is looking for a talented, collaborative, and innovative technical writer/editor to work with our aviation planning team in a nationally recognized company. This position assists staff with review and editing of written materials. This position can be located in any one of the following office locations: Lansing, MI; Chicago, IL; Bloomington, MN; Denver, CO or Windsor, CA.
Responsibilities include:
- Review, edit, and revise documents for context, clarity, organization, grammar, typographical errors
- Provide document review for adherence to quality control standards
- Provide feedback and guidance to document authors on writing strengths and areas of improvement
- Assist marketing staff with gathering information needed for sell sheets, resumes, project sheets and other marketing materials
- Organize and write supporting documents for proposals and reference materials
- Organize and write technical papers, articles, and documents for technical staff
- Create and use graphics such as photographs, drawings, diagrams, animation, and charts that increase readers' understanding
- Standardize content across platforms and media
- Other duties as assigned
Must have a valid driver's license and be able to pass Mead & Hunt's Vehicle Safety Program criteria.
Successful candidates will have the following:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in English, communication, marketing or a related field

- Associate degree in English, communication, marketing or a related field plus two (2) years relevant experience
--OR--
- No degree with at least four (4) years' relevant experience, particularly related to writing or editing
Ideal candidates will have any/all of the following:
- Excellent grammar and writing skills required
- Computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe InDesign or equivalent graphics software
- Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop or other image-editing software a plus
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, continuously changing environment with constant deadlines
- Proven organization, problem solving, communication, and interactive skills
- Ability to understand and write about technical issues and understand related technical terminology
- Must be able to remain composed in a professional manner when presented with uncomfortable or difficult situations.

Salary Range: $45,000 - $75,000 annually; actual compensation may vary due to other factors such as: experience, skill set, or location.
