A forward-thinking, multi-discipline engineering consultancy is seeking a Design Team Project Manager to lead complex building design projects and oversee multidisciplinary teams. This is a senior-level leadership role offering the opportunity to manage high-profile, technically demanding projects across a variety of sectors.

The Opportunity

This position is suited to a highly organized and technically strong professional who can lead projects from concept through construction. The successful candidate will act as the primary point of contact for clients while coordinating internal and external design teams, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary design teams, including MEP, architects, structural, and civil consultants
  • Manage full project lifecycle including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and delivery
  • Act as the primary client contact, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring client satisfaction
  • Oversee design quality, including conducting reviews and managing design changes
  • Coordinate and assemble proposals, including scope definition and cost estimating
  • Track project timelines, deliverables, and financial performance, reporting to internal leadership and clients
  • Lead project kick-offs, coordination meetings, and design reviews
  • Manage contract administration and ensure alignment with agreed scope of services
  • Interface with contractors, municipalities, and permitting authorities
  • Support construction phase activities, including site visits and field coordination
  • Mentor and oversee team members across multiple disciplines
  • Ensure project deliverables meet required performance criteria and standards

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 7–10+ years of experience within a consulting engineering or architectural environment
  • 5+ years of experience managing multidisciplinary project teams
  • Experience delivering large-scale or technically complex projects (e.g., mission critical, manufacturing, cleanroom, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of building codes, industry standards, and design/construction processes
  • Proficiency in tools such as Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and project management platforms
  • Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Architect (RA) preferred
  • PMP, LEED, or WELL accreditations are advantageous
