About the Company

DeepReach is a fast-moving robotics startup focused on real-world robot deployment and task-specific model training. We work at the intersection of teleoperation, deployment data, and embodied AI, helping robots move from lab demos to reliable, production-ready systems in customer environments. Our mission is to turn robots from demos into reliable labor units that companies can depend on daily.

About the Role

We are hiring a Member of technical staff to lead the development of next-generation robot learning systems for real-world manipulation and deployment. This role owns the technical vision across robot learning models, real-world data generation pipelines, teleoperation/demonstration learning systems, and task-specific model training for deployed robots.

Responsibilities

  • Robotics Learning Strategy: Define the long-term architecture for robot learning across manipulation, task execution, and real-world deployment environments.
  • Data & Teleoperation Intelligence: Shape how real-world robot data is generated, validated, and turned into scalable learning signals.
  • Model ? Deployment Feedback Loop: Establish closed-loop systems connecting deployment data, evaluation, and continuous model improvement.
  • Research to Production: Drive the conversion of cutting-edge robotics research into reliable, production-ready systems.
  • Technical Leadership: Build and lead the core robotics ML and data science organization from 0 ? 1 while defining the company's long-term technical moat.
  • Strategic Roadmap: Set multi-year technical roadmaps, balancing research depth with product velocity.

Qualifications

  • Education: PhD or equivalent experience in Robotics, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, or Control Systems.

Required Skills

  • Technical Expertise: Strong experience in at least 3 of the following: Robot manipulation, Imitation learning/RL, Multimodal/VLA-style models, 3D perception, Teleoperation systems, or Sim-to-Real pipelines.
  • Systems Experience: Proven track record of building real robotic systems (beyond simulation) and training models using real sensor and behavior data.
  • Shipment History: Experience shipping production-grade ML or robotics systems.
  • Leadership: Ability to make critical architectural decisions across hardware, software, and ML stacks.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience deploying robots in production environments outside of research labs.
  • Expertise in dual-arm or dexterous manipulation.
