Position Purpose:
The Veterinary Care Technician plays a crucial role in providing top-notch veterinary services to our Vetco Total Care full-service hospital patients while ensuring an exceptional experience for their owners. You will embody our mission and values in every interaction. Your leadership will help foster teamwork and motivation among hospital staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Welcome clients and their pets, assist them into exam rooms, and gather essential information, including weight and vital signs, to maintain thorough electronic medical records.
Support veterinarians during appointments, surgeries, dental procedures, and euthanasias while adhering to their oversight.
Ensure patient safety through proper restraint, sample collection, medication handling, and documentation maintenance.
Coordinate scheduling, communicate effectively with clients, relay test results, and manage inventory and billing processes.
Prepare pets for surgical procedures, monitor anesthetized patients, and ensure proper care during recovery and discharge.
Administer in-hospital treatments like injectable medications and IV therapies, keeping patients comfortable and clean.
Assist in training new staff members and share knowledge for continuous improvement.
Maintain a clean and organized hospital environment while following a regular cleaning schedule.
Other Duties:
Complete additional assigned tasks as needed.
Provide backup support at the front desk or via phone when required.
Supervision:
You will work under the direct supervision of veterinarians, the Hospital Office Manager, or the Hospital Leader on Duty, while receiving overall guidance from the Hospital Office Manager.

Qualifications:
Completion of recognized education required to become a Credentialed Veterinary Technician in your state.
A minimum of 1-year experience in a veterinary role is required.
Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
Must display compassion and professionalism, especially during stressful scenarios.
Proficiency in phone communication and computer skills is required.
Team-oriented with a willingness to learn, innovate, and adapt to changes.
Work Environment:
This role is primarily based in the Vetco Total Care full-service hospital, where you may be required to bend, kneel, lift up to 30 pounds, and stand for extended periods, frequently engaging with clients and their pets.
Salary Range: $22.25 - $35.75 per hour
