Position Summary:
The Resident DJ is responsible for curating and delivering a sophisticated musical experience that
complements the restaurant's dining atmosphere and brand identity. This role enhances the overall guest journey through thoughtfully selected music that elevates ambiance without overpowering conversation or service.

Working closely with executive management, culinary leadership, and the events team, the Resident DJ designs musical programming aligned with service periods, seasonal concepts, private events, and special occasions. The DJ demonstrates exceptional awareness of volume control, tonal balance, and guest demographics to ensure the soundscape enhances -- rather than competes with -- the dining experience.

The ideal candidate possesses refined musical taste, extensive genre knowledge (including lounge, deep house, jazz, soul, international, and contemporary classics), and a polished professional presence. Experience within luxury hospitality environments is highly preferred, along with the ability to adapt energy seamlessly from early evening dining to later-night ambiance transitions.

This position plays a key role in shaping the restaurant's identity as a destination for elevated dining and curated atmosphere.

Essential Functions:
1. Responsible for redefining hospitality at Graton Resort & Casino while living, supporting, and promoting our values.
2. Perform responsibilities in accordance with all Graton Resort & Casino standards, policies, and
procedures.
3. Curate and perform sophisticated music selections that enhance the restaurant's upscale dining
atmosphere.
4. Develop and maintain playlists aligned with brand identity, service flow, seasonal themes, and guest demographics.
5. Adjust tempo, genre, and energy in real time to complement transitions between early dining, peak service, and late-evening ambiance.
6. Maintain appropriate sound levels to preserve guest conversation and overall dining comfort.
7. Collaborate with General Manager, Events Team, and Marketing to support private events, special
activations, and promotional evenings.
8. Provide customized musical programming for VIP reservations, tasting menus, wine dinners, and
curated experiences when required.
9. Operate, monitor, and maintain professional-grade DJ and sound equipment; coordinate with vendors for technical support when necessary.
10. Conduct sound checks prior to service to ensure optimal acoustics and seamless performance.
11. Represent the restaurant brand with professionalism, polished appearance, and punctuality.
12. Demonstrates confident stage presence and engaging professional demeanor.
13. Presents a vibrant, energetic, and charismatic personality appropriate for a luxury hospitality
environment.
14. Adheres to wardrobe and grooming guidelines established by management.
15. Maintain awareness of current music trends while preserving a refined and timeless sound appropriate for fine dining.
16. Adhere to all local sound regulations, and licensing requirements.
17. Contribute creative ideas to enhance the guest experience through music-driven concepts and
ambiance innovation.
18. Collaborate with other departments to support property wide initiatives.
19. Provide customized musical programming for VIP events, private events, and curated experiences when required.
20. Support music programming and sound setup in other areas of the property (e.g., bar, lounge, patio, or private dining rooms) as business needs require.
21. Provide DJ services for off-site activations, brand partnerships, or sister-property events when requested by management.

Required Qualifications:
1. Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members and Management in both written and verbal form.
2. Basic knowledge of sound engineering or audio balancing in fine-dining spaces.

Preferred Qualifications:
1. Minimum 1--2 years of professional DJ experience, with at least 2 years in upscale hospitality, fine dining, luxury lounges, boutique hotels, or high-end private events.
2. Experience working collaboratively with hospitality leadership, event planners and marketing teams.
3. Demonstrated experience curating music specifically for dining environments.
4. Proven ability to control energy and sound levels in settings where guest conversation and service flow are priorities.
5. Experience performing for diverse, affluent, and international clientele Background supporting VIP events, private dining experiences, wine dinners, corporate receptions, or brand activations.
6. Strong knowledge of refined music genres including lounge, deep house, nu-disco, jazz, soul,
international, downtempo, and contemporary classics.
7. Experience working collaboratively with hospitality leadership, event planners, and marketing teams.
8. Professional experience operating high-quality sound systems and DJ equipment in acoustically
sensitive environments.
9. Understanding of licensing requirements and sound regulations applicable to restaurant settings.
