Ground Up Construction Recruiting is partnered with a growing commercial general contractor in Rohnert Park, CA to help them hire an Estimator. They've built a strong reputation delivering high-quality federal and commercial projects and are continuing to invest in their estimating department (80% federal, 20% commercial).

As their pipeline grows, they're looking for an Estimator who is comfortable reading and interpreting construction documents, performing takeoffs, and building accurate estimates while collaborating closely with project managers, subcontractors, and leadership. The right person will bring the ability to review plans, identify scope gaps, build accurate project estimates, and have the ability to communicate clearly across teams.

Workload naturally ebbs and flows depending on project cycles, so they're looking for someone adaptable who can work both independently and as part of a team. They do around $40M in revenue, have 80 employees, and have self-performing electrical/low voltage divisions. Project size varies from $500k-$20M+ with an average of 6 active projects going on at a time.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate cost estimates and bid proposals for commercial construction projects
• Perform quantity takeoffs, cost analysis, and scope reviews using project plans and specifications
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor bids to ensure competitive pricing and complete scopes
• Assist with project scheduling and preconstruction planning when needed
• Collaborate with project managers, field teams, and leadership throughout the bidding process
• Maintain organized documentation for estimates, proposals, and bid submissions

What We're Looking For

• 2+ years of commercial estimating experience
• Experience with Microsoft Project and Bluebeam or similar software (RS Means, Primavera, and Building Connected is a plus)
