The Cardiac Management Solutions division of ZOLL Medical Corporation focuses on innovative products that manage cardiac patients' needs, including the LifeVest® wearable cardioverter defibrillator (WCD). Overview:

The Patient Services Specialist will work as an independent contractor within ZOLL's Cardiac Management Solutions division, training patients on the proper use and care of the LifeVest®. The LifeVest® provides vital protection for patients at risk of sudden cardiac arrest (SCA), allowing them to maintain daily activities while feeling secure. This role is perfect for health professionals who have experience in patient care and education and seek a flexible opportunity to earn extra income.

Typically, you will engage with patients in a hospital setting as they prepare for discharge. Your responsibilities will include setting up the LifeVest® equipment and training patients and their caregivers on its use. Additionally, you will provide ongoing support as needed to ensure patient understanding and satisfaction. The flexibility of this role means you can choose assignments that fit your availability, including working around your current job schedule and on weekends.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule services by contacting caregivers and family members
  • Be open to accepting assignments that may occur during the day, in the evenings, or on weekends
  • Travel to patients' homes and healthcare facilities to provide services
  • Train patients and caregivers on the LifeVest® operation
  • Program the LifeVest® per the prescribing physician's instructions
  • Measure patients to determine the correct garment size
  • Complete and have patients sign all required paperwork
  • Transmit signed copies of the Patient Agreement and WEAR Checklist to ZOLL within 24 hours of the assignment
  • Manage and maintain an inventory of devices and garments
  • Disclose any family relationship with potential referral sources

Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of documented patient care experience in a paid professional capacity
  • Experience must be detailed in your resume
  • Successful completion of a background check
  • For candidates in Florida and Ohio, a level 2 background screening is required (fee not covered by ZOLL)
  • Willingness to disclose personal NPI number (if applicable)
  • A valid driver's license and car insurance, or a valid state ID
  • Agreement to pay a $30 annual DME fee, deducted from completed Work Orders
  • Willingness to cover costs for additional vendor credentialing (e.g., RepTrax) if needed for your geographic area
