Description:

Our client is a premier global independent investment banking advisory firm. They are looking to hire a hands-on Project Manager to support execution across general Compliance . This role is onsite in the NYC Office (Midtown) 3 days a week.

What is the position:
We are seeking a seasoned Project Manager / Business Analyst to drive our technology projects in Compliance. The two key areas are Compliance apps for surveillance and archiving and AML case management.
This role is focused on day-to-day project management rigor: translating requirements into functional and technical specifications, leading requirement workshops with Compliance officers, producing BRDs/FRDs, building and maintaining project plans, driving RAID management, running operating cadence, managing risks and dependencies, and producing clear, reliable status reporting. The Project Manager will work closely with product managers, engineering teams and business stakeholders to ensure work is properly sequenced and execution stays on track.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Translate requirements into functional and technical specifications
  • Produce BRDs / FRDs
  • Create Process Maps
  • Ensure Traceability
  • Develop and maintain integrated project plans
  • Track milestones, dependencies, and delivery readiness across multiple workstreams
  • Coordinate sequencing of activities
  • Produce concise, accurate status reporting for senior technical and business stakeholders
  • Maintain RAID logs, proactively identifying risks, issues, and dependencies
  • Escalate risks and blockers early, with clear articulation of impact and options
  • Run standing project and working sessions; track decisions, actions, and follow-ups
  • Coordinate across architecture, governance, and engineering teams to keep work moving and aligned

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager / Business Analyst on complex, cross-
  • functional initiatives
  • Experience managing complex Compliance Tech projects
  • Demonstrated hands-on ownership of standard project management artifacts and cadence
  • Experience stepping into in-flight or partially formed initiatives and stabilizing execution
  • Experience working alongside engineering teams in a non-design capacity
  • Experience in financial services
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent efforts
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable facing off with senior stakeholders
  • Ability to operate independently with minimal day-to-day direction
