Warehouse Manager - Livonia, MI

Venteon is currently seeking a Warehouse Manager to fill an opening with a manufacturing company located in Livonia, MI

Regular work schedule is 8:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m. (Monday Friday)

Requirements of the Warehouse Manager

  • 5+ years of experience in warehousing environments
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Experience Managing Warehouse and Production Environments
  • The employee is primarily required to work at a desk in a sitting position.
  • The employee must be able to lift up to 20 pounds regularly, and up to 50 pounds infrequently.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • The employee is frequently required to use hands and arms to reach and lift, fingers to grasp, type and feel.
  • The employee is required to hear in order to communicate with customers and vendors over the phone.

Responsibilities of the Warehouse Manager
  • Manage the Warehouse and Production Teams in a positive and team-oriented manner.
  • Hire new employees when necessary.
  • Provide employees with regular feedback regarding their performance and outline opportunities for improvement when necessary.
  • Ensure that delivery vehicles and warehouse equipment including forklifts are maintained properly.
  • Ensure that all employees who will operate forklifts are properly trained and certified prior to using equipment.
  • Monitor Warehouse performance to ensure that we are shipping product when required by the customer as referenced on the order documents.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve the layout and work flow of the warehouse and production area.
  • Develop and implement strategies to maximize efficiency in all areas of the warehouse and production area.
  • Implement 5S and Lean initiatives to ensure that the warehouse and production areas are maintained in a clean and organized condition.
  • Work closely with Inventory Control/Purchasing Manager to ensure that cycle counts are performed on a regular basis.
  • Work closely with Customer Service Department to ensure that we are delivering product accurately and when required by our customers.
  • Ensure that Bin locations are managed properly and that controls are in place to ensure that product is put away in the proper bin locations and that bin transfers are done accurately.
  • Provide assistance when necessary to the warehouse team in regards to packaging and shipping to ensure that customer orders are delivered on-time.
  • Ensure that appropriate safety measures are in place to minimize the risk of injury to our employees.
  • Obtain general knowledge of product lines and business software as it pertains to position.
  • Follow written work instructions and procedures as they relate to ISO-9001 Quality System.
  • Follow company policies and work rules as defined by the Employee Handbook.
  • Provide assistance to other departments as necessary.
