Job Title: Event Aide Department: Events Department

Location: Santa Rosa, CA Hourly Rate: $18 per hour

Snapshot of the Role
In this key role, you will play a pivotal role in creating a safe and memorable event for patrons and guests of the Center. As a point of contact for clients, patrons, and guest, you serve as first point of contact for most events.

- Demonstrate personal responsibility for quality and timeliness of assignments

- Contribute to the team's success by supporting each other in the completion of assignments
- Communicate effectively in verbal and written form in a respectful, timely, and clear manner
- Build and maintain customer satisfaction through out the event cycle to ensure excellence in service and event experience
List of some of the duties and responsibilities you are entrusted with:
- Set-up based on the specific requirements for each event and breakdown of event space
- Respond to public safety incidents to determine suitable actions and bring to the attention of the appropriate personnel
- Ensure conditional readiness of facility from a life safety and patron experience lens by assisting in property maintenance and beautification activities
- Ensure public and staff safety rules, regulations, and policies are complied with during events and during working shifts, including fire safety laws and procedures for staff, patrons, and volunteers
- Maintain facilities and restrooms before, during, and after events
- Check for and report unauthorized use of facilities or other unusual and improper conditions
- Perform traffic control during events and performances
- Ensure proper event set-up and break-down, oversees janitorial duties and limited technical needs before, during, and after events

Purpose of the Position: To serve as first point of contact for a majority of patron experiences in alignment with the Center's mission, vision, and values; ensure event assignments are carried out correctly and in a timely manner; respond to and report security and safety issues to appropriate personnel.
Key Relationships: Event Manager, immediate event supervisor, crew chiefs, event team, other departments, patrons, and clients
Key Results: - Maintain conditional readiness of facility with focus on safety and patron experience
- Help create a work environment that embraces diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging
- Contribute to team unity by working together to solve problems and putting team success first
- Maintain focus on results and desired outcomes for events and assignments despite distraction and interruptions
- Perform work in a safe manner at all times following standard operating procedures
Responsibilities include the following
: - Perform physical setup of an event space for clients and patrons of the Center
- Transport, set up and dismantle various types of equipment including tables, chairs, linen, pipe and drape, stanchions, and barricades
- Moderate audio and/or video based on the unique needs of the clients and performers of the Center
- Contribute to care and maintenance of property through proactive and assigned activities, including but not limited to debris removal, pressure washing, touch up painting, weeding, and carpet/floor care
- Perform minor emergency maintenance and repairs during events, such as removal of safety hazards and replacement of light bulbs
- Maintain restrooms and facilities before, during and after events
- Perform tasks which include trash removal, toilet and sink cleaning, mopping, vacuuming, sweeping and replenishing supplies and products
- Check for and report unauthorized use of facilities or other unusual and improper conditions
- Direct traffic during events and performances to minimize congestion and ensure smooth vehicle flow
- Maintain safe environment for pedestrians, employees, and patrons
- Set up traffic barricades and erect, relocate, and remove signs
- Act quickly during medical incidents by communicating by hand radio in a clear and concise manner to appropriate personnel; prioritize safety by given variables while under stressful conditions
- Answer basic questions and work to resolve patron issues in accordance with policy guidelines
- Remain well informed of specific organization information in order to provide answers to a multitude of customer questions and inquiries
Supervisory Responsibilities This position does not have any direct supervisory responsibilities.
