Estimator – Heavy Civil Civil Construction

The Estimator is responsible for producing accurate, competitive bid proposals for civil construction projects. This role supports the full estimating lifecycle from reviewing plans and performing takeoffs to evaluating risk, pricing labor and materials, and supporting bid strategy. The Estimator works closely with senior estimators, project teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure bids reflect realistic means and methods while protecting margins.

Ideal candidates bring strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of civil construction operations, and the ability to communicate clearly across estimating, field, and management teams. Experience with earthwork, paving, utilities, and industry-standard estimating software is essential, along with a proactive, detail-oriented approach to bidding and preconstruction support.

Requirements at a glance:

• 5+ years in civil construction, including 2+ years in estimating
• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Proficiency with HCSS HeavyBid (preferred), AGTEK, Bluebeam, Primavera, and MS Office
• Strong understanding of construction means & methods, cost analysis, and bid risk
• Willingness to travel for site visits and preconstruction meetings
