As part of the Technical Services Bureau in the Sheriff's Office, the IT Specialist provides technical support (hardware and software) and recommends technical solutions to Sheriff's Office staff using Law Enforcement and Detention applications and systems. This includes receiving and responding to calls, emails, and other electronic messages from staff, potentially up to 24 hours per day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. Responsibilities include:
The ideal candidate is a problem solver who is able to be flexible amid competing and changing priorities. They will have significant experience working with Microsoft client and server infrastructure, and Microsoft Azure and PowerShell experience is also highly desired. NOTE: The Sheriff's Office is a 24/7 environment. Sheriff's IT Specialists will be required to be part of a standby on-call (paid) rotation and may work various shifts and schedules according to the needs of the agency, including weekends. As a condition of employment, individuals will be required to undergo and maintain a Sheriff's Office background clearance. Telework of a maximum of two days per week is possible after the probationary period, AND in consideration of on-site minimal staffing requirements. Four-day, 10-hour alternative schedules may be considered by management upon request. *Salary is negotiable within the established range.
