The Analytical / Formulation Technician is a cross-functional, hands-on role that supports analytical testing, powder formulation, and manufacturing operations for a multi-SKU pressed tablet product line. This person will play a critical role in both HQ and remote operations — supporting core R&D and manufacturing execution in-state and traveling production sites.

Key Responsibilities:

Analytical Testing and Manufacturing

  • Analyze instrument output and prepare basic reports for internal stakeholders

Powder Formulation and Tablet Manufacturing

  • Handle cannabis material (distillate, isolate, minor cannabinoids) and input powders

  • Perform bulk powder formulation, blending, and active SKU-specific batching

  • Apply GMP-aligned workflows with pharmaceutical-style sanitary practices

  • Execute and verify formulation batches with a focus on precision and reproducibility

  • Collaborate with R&D and production to improve manufacturability, throughput, and batch quality

Travel

  • Travel 9–11 weeks per year, typically in 1-week increments (subject to change and must be flexible)

  • Act as on-site technical lead during off-site manufacturing runs

  • Execute formulation and manufacturing workflows across all active SKUs

  • Set up, validate, and operate analytical and manufacturing equipment in remote environments

  • Run in-process analytical testing to inform batch adjustments and product decisions

  • Troubleshoot equipment and processes in coordination with HQ

Inventory Control and Quality Support

  • Manage intake of cannabis raw materials and integrate them into internal inventory systems

  • Prepare and coordinate samples for third-party compliance testing

  • Conduct weekly inventory checks and scheduled full counts

  • Monitor lab and manufacturing stock levels; coordinate purchasing with local vendors

  • Maintain organization and compliance documentation for lab consumables and active materials

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree

  • Background in analytical chemistry, manufacturing science, or cannabis operations preferred

  • At least one year experience working in a laboratory environment

  • Strong attention to detail; must be comfortable following SOPs and maintaining clean records

  • Hands-on experience with analytical equipment a plus, but not required

  • Comfortable working independently in both lab and production settings

  • Ability to travel several weeks per year with changing travel schedule

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite

  • Must pass state and federal background checks

  • Valid Drivers License and reliable transportation

  • Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50lbs
