Young STEAMers is seeking a Part-Time Assistant to the Officers to support daily operations, programs, and communications as we expand our STEAM opportunities for children in underserved Bay Area communities.


This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, takes initiative, and wants to make a meaningful impact.


What You'll Do

You'll work closely with Young STEAMers' leadership to keep the organization running smoothly.


Executive & Administrative Support

  • Manage calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate logistics
  • Handle correspondence and ensure timely follow-ups
  • Organize documents, files, and meeting materials
  • Support board meetings (packets, notes, follow-ups)

Programs, Events & Communications

  • Support planning and logistics for classes and community events
  • Coordinate schedules and materials for instructors and volunteers
  • Draft and proofread emails, thank-you notes, and updates
  • Assist with newsletters and organizational communications

Development & Special Projects

  • Support donor communications and database updates
  • Assist with fundraising campaigns and events
  • Conduct light research on partners, donors, or grants
  • Track special projects and support new initiatives

Mission Support

  • Serve as a professional, warm point of contact for partners and volunteers
  • Represent Young STEAMers' mission with professionalism and care
  • Handle sensitive information with discretion


Who You Are

  • 2–5 years of experience in an assistant, coordinator, or operations role (nonprofit or education experience a plus)
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to juggle multiple priorities
  • Tech-savvy (Google Workspace, spreadsheets, project management tools)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proactive, flexible, and solution-oriented
  • Passionate about education and inspiring kids through STEAM
