Attorney (Education Law) – Full-Time, Hybrid Work Option

Join School & College Legal Services of California as an Attorney (Education Law) in our Business & Facilities team supporting K–12 schools and community colleges across Northern California. This is a mission-driven public law role that allows you to help small, community‑based schools bring their ideas to life while working in a collaborative environment that values balance, growth, and public education.

About the Role

As part of our Business and Facilities team, you'll advise and represent public K‑12 schools and community colleges on matters including:

  • Construction and modernization projects
  • Facilities planning and public contracting
  • Real property and developer fee issues
  • Business operations and procurement

Required Qualifications

  • Jurisd. Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
  • Active membership in the State Bar of California
  • Strong knowledge of state law and legal research
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Valid California driver's license (or ability to travel to remote client sites)
  • Experience or strong interest in public contracting, construction, facilities, or business operations in the K‑12 or community college setting

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years practicing public law on behalf of school districts, community colleges, or other public agencies
  • Experience in contract negotiation, construction law, or facilities work
  • Proven ability to provide practical, client‑focused adviceCollaborative, service‑oriented approach
  • Passion for supporting public education
