About the Role
The Vice President of Philanthropy will be responsible for providing visionary leadership and strategic direction for all fundraising and development initiatives across the organization. This role oversees a comprehensive philanthropic program, including annual giving, major and planned gifts, corporate and foundation relations, sponsorships, and special events, with the goal of expanding donor engagement and increasing revenue to support the organizations mission. The Vice President supervises a team of development professionals and works closely with the CEO, senior leadership, board members, campaign consultants, and volunteers to cultivate and steward relationships with donors and community partners.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years' progressive nonprofit fundraising experience with a demonstrated record of raising $7 million or more annually and at least 7 years in major donor cultivation and solicitation. A proven ability to close five-, six-, and seven-figure gifts, along with direct experience managing capital campaigns, special events, grants, and corporate giving, is essential. Candidates should possess excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills and a talent for storytelling that effectively conveys organizational impact. Strong strategic thinking, analytical ability, and prospect-research expertise are required, as well as experience collaborating with volunteer fundraisers and leadership teams.
