Senior Accountant / Accounting Manager

A consumer packaged goods (CPG) company is seeking a Senior Accountant / Accounting Manager to support year-end close, audit readiness, and a transition to NetSuite. This is an immediate-start contract-to-hire role that is hands-on and ideal for someone who is comfortable stepping into an environment with evolving processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead audit preparation and assist with schedules and supporting documentation for the upcoming audit.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliation cleanup, ensuring all accounts are properly supported.
• Support the NetSuite implementation (targeted go-live mid-February), including data clean-up, testing, and system mapping from QuickBooks.
• Assist in improving month-end close workflows, policies, and procedures.
• Partner with the Controller and outsourced AP/AR team to resolve issues and ensure timely, accurate postings.
• Address gaps in order-to-cash and procure-to-pay activities, including AP aging, AR clean-up, trade spend, and inventory-related reconciliations.
• Support ad hoc projects and operational accounting needs related to year-end and audit timelines.

• Operationally minded accountant with an understanding of CPG fundamentals (inventory, trade spend, EDI workflows).

• Flexible and team-oriented, able to support both recurring tasks and short-term projects.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 510+ years of hands-on accounting experience; CPG, retail, or inventory-heavy environments preferred.
• Strong background in audit readiness, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Experience with NetSuite (implementation or optimization) strongly preferred; QuickBooks and tools like Bill.com or Ramp are a plus.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with leadership and outsourced teams.
• Strong communication skills and comfort working cross-functionally.
