About the Role
We are looking for a Head of Design to lead a small but high-impact product design team and elevate design as a core part of our product development process. This leader will guide end-to-end design for complex, workflow-driven B2B SaaS products, with an emphasis on clarity, automation, and efficiency.
This role requires someone who is equally comfortable operating at the strategic level and rolling up their sleeves when needed. You'll partner closely with Product and Engineering leaders to shape product direction, improve cross-functional collaboration, and raise the bar for design quality, systems, and execution.
Responsibilities
Design Leadership & Execution
Lead and scale a product design team across all aspects of the design lifecycle.
Establish a high-quality bar for UX across complex workflows and multi-step processes.
Contribute hands-on to design work where needed—especially in early-stage or high-priority areas.
Define and maintain design principles, patterns, and standards that drive consistency and clarity.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner closely with Product and Engineering to prioritize problems, shape product strategy, and improve execution.
Advocate for design using clear business and user rationale; influence without relying on authority.
Drive a shared understanding of quality across teams through strong communication and alignment.
Design Systems & Research
Implement or refine design systems, workflows, and documentation to support scalable design.
Promote evidence-based decision-making through user research, data, and experimentation.
Introduce processes and frameworks that improve velocity without compromising quality.
People Leadership
Hire, mentor, and grow designers at multiple levels.
Provide coaching, feedback, and career development support to help the team do their best work.
Cultivate a low-ego, collaborative culture rooted in clarity, ownership, and strong execution.

Skills and Requirements
Experience
7+ years of product design experience, with at least 3+ years managing and developing designers.
Background in B2B SaaS, ideally with workflow-heavy or technically complex products.
Demonstrated success designing for automation, operational efficiency, or multi-role environments.
Strong portfolio showing end-to-end problem solving and business impact.
Skills & Attributes
Ability to thrive in cross-functional environments where Product and Engineering drive the roadmap.
Excellent communication skills, especially when presenting to leadership or explaining tradeoffs.
Strong systems thinking: able to simplify complex processes and reduce friction for users.
Low-ego, collaborative approach; comfortable influencing and aligning teams with different viewpoints.
Able to context-switch between strategic direction and tactical execution. Experience in regulated or compliance-oriented products (e.g., fintech, healthtech).
Background in design systems, research, or analytics.
Experience scaling a design team during periods of rapid company growth.
