Scion Technology has been engaged to conduct a search for an experienced Magnetics Design Lead for our client, the world's leading supplier of microinverter-based solar and battery systems in Petaluma, CA! This is a full-time, direct hire position based onsite in Petaluma.
POSITION OVERVIEW
In this pivotal role, you'll specialize in designing high-volume custom magnetics, integrating electronic, magnetic, thermal, structural, and cost considerations into a comprehensive multi-physics optimization process.

- Lead the design and development of medium-voltage isolation-rated transformers, serving as the primary magnetics design authority.
- Collaborate effectively across engineering, manufacturing, and product teams to ensure seamless integration and successful product delivery.
- Drive innovation in magnetics design, leveraging your expertise to optimize performance, cost, and manufacturability.
- Oversee the entire design lifecycle, from concept through prototyping to production, ensuring high-quality standards and reliability.
- PhD in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
- 10+ years of specialized experience in magnetics, with a focus on medium-voltage isolated transformer design-preferably ferrite-based solutions.
- Demonstrated leadership in magnetic design, with a strong track record of innovation and technical excellence.
- Deep knowledge of multi-physics optimization and magnetics manufacturing processes.
