About the Role:
Scion Technology has been engaged to conduct a search for an experienced DfM (Design for Manufacturing) Engineer. We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative DfM Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. In this vital role, you will collaborate closely with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to optimize product designs for manufacturability, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and high-quality output from the start. Your expertise will help streamline production processes, reduce costs, and accelerate time-to-market for our innovative products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze product designs and provide expert guidance on manufacturing feasibility and improvements.
  • Collaborate with design engineers during the development phase to incorporate manufacturability considerations.
  • Develop and implement design guidelines and best practices for manufacturing efficiency.
  • Design, validate, and optimize custom magnetics and collaborate cross-functionally with supply chain and manufacturing teams.
  • Conduct Design for Assembly (DfA) and Design for Cost (DfC) reviews to identify and address potential production issues early.
  • Work with suppliers and internal manufacturing teams to resolve design-related manufacturing challenges.
  • Perform risk assessments related to manufacturing processes and suggest solutions to mitigate issues.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to reduce cycle times and costs.
  • Document design modifications and communicate effectively across cross-functional teams.

Qualifications:
  • M.Sc Degree in either Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years in magnetic component design (transformers, inductors, etc.)
  • Solid understanding of DfM principles and prototype-to-production workflows
  • Experience with Medium voltage isolation systems and compliance requirements - preferred.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and tooling.
  • Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
  • Familiarity with rapid prototyping, testing, and validation methods.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
