Pay
Salary: $38.94/hr – $47.33/hr. Starting salary up to $41.64/hr ($86,907/year). Funded through May 31, 2026.
Position Information
The Family Justice Center Sonoma County is recruiting for a full‑time Navigator who will serve as the initial trusted single point of contact for each client who enters or calls the FJCSC. The Navigator assists victims of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, child abuse, elder abuse, and stalking. Responsibilities include completing intake interviews, providing support and assistance, coordinating services, and ensuring client safety.
Responsibilities
- Review services available through all FJCSC partners.
- Assist clients in identifying needed services.
- Guide and arrange services for victims.
- Serve as a single point of contact for the victim and partners.
- Provide case management to primary client and ancillary victims, including children who have witnessed or experienced violence.
- Maintain progress reports and distribute client information to partner agencies as required.
- Assist with follow‑up calls.
- Attend FJC trainings, meetings, and grant‑specific activities.
Qualifications
Experience: Two years of responsible public contact experience involving law enforcement, supportive counseling, or similar work with knowledge of community social service resources. Experience with the criminal justice process is highly desirable.
Education: Relevant training or coursework in sociology, psychology, counseling, social work, criminology, or a closely related field.
License: Valid California driver's license. Background investigation required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Understanding of criminal justice laws and procedures for victims and witnesses.
- Proficiency in interview techniques, trauma‑informed care, and crisis intervention.
- Ability to build rapport with emotionally vulnerable individuals.
- Strong communication skills, cultural competency, and organizational abilities.
- Proficient with data systems (ETO/Apricot) and office software.
- Completed training in trauma‑informed care and domestic violence advocacy preferred.
