Base Pay Range

The Precon Manager/Estimator will oversee pre‑construction activities, including estimating and budgeting for projects within the modular DSA construction industry. This role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with a team.

Description

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and proposals for DSA and public works projects (primarily K‑12)
• Perform quantity take‑offs, analyze drawings/specifications, and prepare accurate cost breakdowns
• Collaborate with design and project management teams during preconstruction to ensure accurate budgets and scopes
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids
• Assist in value engineering efforts to meet client budgets and project goals
• Support ongoing project cost tracking and forecasting as needed

Profile

A successful Precon Manager/Estimator should have:

• 5+ years of estimating experience in commercial or public works construction
• Experience with K‑12 schools, DSA projects, or modular construction preferred
• Strong understanding of construction means, methods, and materials
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specs, and contracts
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Proficiency with estimating software and Excel; design‑build experience a plus
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
