📍 Hybrid – South San Francisco, CA

💰 $110,000 – $115,000 annually


A California-based organization dedicated to serving its community is seeking a Benefits & Leaves Manager to oversee employee benefits, leave programs, accommodations, and workers' compensation administration. This role is ideal for a hands-on HR professional who enjoys managing details, mentoring staff, and ensuring employees receive accurate and timely support throughout their employment journey.


What You'll Do:

  • Manage the full scope of employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life, retirement, and wellness plans.
  • Lead all leave-related processes—family, medical, disability, and state-specific leaves—with a focus on compliance and consistency.
  • Oversee ADA/FEHA accommodations and coordinate return-to-work programs.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with benefit carriers, brokers, and third-party administrators.
  • Support HR compliance initiatives, reporting, and audits across benefits and leave functions.
  • Coach and develop HR team members to ensure exceptional service delivery and process efficiency.


What You Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (HR or Benefits certification preferred).
  • 3+ years managing benefits and leave programs, with 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of FMLA, CFRA, ADA, FEHA, COBRA, ERISA, ACA, and related regulations.
  • Experience supporting a multi-site workforce; nonprofit or service-based experience is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
