Description:

Laboratory Assistant

Laboratory Assistant at Petaluma Valley Hospital, CA. This position is Per Diem and will work 8-hour, Variable shifts. Process laboratory specimens; perform clerical duties; maintain daily quality control data and assist in maintaining laboratory equipment; assist Medical Technologists in clinical laboratory tests; complete all send outs; answer the phone to assist units with laboratory questions; perform phlebotomy and assist with the collection of other types of specimens.

Required Qualifications:

  • Upon hire: California Certified Phlebotomy Technician I License, or
  • Upon hire: California Certified Phlebotomy Technician II License

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Coursework/Training: 2 years of college.
  • 1 year experience as a clinical laboratory assistant in an acute care laboratory.
