Collins Aerospace in Fairfield, CA, is seeking a Senior Project Engineer responsible for managing and maintenance of the program budget and schedule, as well as intensive coordination across stakeholders to meet the objectives of the program. The Project Engineer will be involved in all phases of the product life, including proposal preparation, brainstorming sessions, supplier support, manufacturing support, and other sustaining activities. This role is eligible for relocation.

What You Will Do

  • Ensure processes are adhered to by the engineering execution team and liaise with program management and other IPT leads to assure technical goals are achieved.
  • Responsible for capturing lessons learned.
  • Take ownership of technical project execution through Design & Development activities into Production.
  • Present project status to multiple levels of Leadership.
  • Work as part of a cohesive team with test engineering, product engineering, system engineering, program management and Operations.
  • Maintain and oversee Earned Value Management as a Cost Account Manager.
  • Breakdown Work Package and tasking for execution.
  • Provide outstanding communication, especially cross-discipline.
  • Exhibit a positive attitude and great mentoring/delegating skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and skills facilitating working in a team environment.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
  • Agile Experience (Alm: Jira/Wiki experience required).
  • Experience in Systems Requirement/artifact breakdown.
  • Experience in Test Plan and Execution Artifact breakdown.
  • EVMS/CAM Experience.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Strong EVMS/CAM experience.
  • Collins ALM: Jira/Agile and Wiki experience.
  • Experience in Mechanical Design processes.
  • Experience in Explosives and/or Energetics.
  • Bachelor's or greater Degree in Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering.
