Position Summary

The Surveillance Supervisor is responsible for observing, documenting, and reporting on all activity on property in order to protect property assets, as well as Guests and Team Members. The role directly supervises and coordinates Surveillance room activities, assists in investigations and ensures compliance with Gaming and department policies, procedures, regulations, and requirements.

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for practicing, supporting and promoting Graton Resort & Casino's Company-wide culture and demonstrating Graton Resort & Casino's Service Standards at all times.
  • Ensure compliance with all Surveillance Department and Company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain complete familiarity with gaming regulations, the property's Internal Control System, the department policies and procedures, and maintain a working knowledge of federal, state and local laws.
  • Maintain current information on known cheaters, advantage players, scams, and illegal methods of gaming.
  • Cooperate with other departments in protecting the assets of the Company.
  • Attend court hearings, and other legal meetings, acting as a witness for Graton Resort Casino, gaming regulatory agencies, or law enforcement agencies.
  • Operate all surveillance CCTV and related equipment, and, if necessary, conduct floor observations in order to detect any violations of law, policies, and procedures.
  • Report to the Director of Surveillance any violations of the law, gaming regulations, and Company policies and procedures, as well as all pertinent information regarding the Surveillance Department.
  • Observe the precepts of truth, accuracy, and prudence; without allowing personal feelings, prejudices, animosities, or friendships to interfere or influence judgements.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality with regards to the conduct, operations, controls and procedures involving surveillance activities.
  • Demonstrate abilities of coaching, training and motivating all surveillance personnel in their daily activities.
  • Provide on-the-job training to Surveillance Agents and conduct training classes as required.
  • Has knowledge of all casino games, including, but not limited to Blackjack, Dice, Roulette, Baccarat, Let it Ride, Caribbean Stud Poker, Pai Gow Poker, Slots, Poker, Keno, and Bingo, and understand all relevant aspects of each game, such as dealing procedures, counting strategies, and methods of cheating.
  • Conduct random surveillance and 'special observations' as approved by the Surveillance Director.
  • Conduct surveillance reviews or 'audits' to confirm transactions or events.
