We are looking for a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Patient Care Technician Apprentice (PCT Apprentice). In this role, you will undergo training to learn how to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. You will be equipped with the skills necessary to administer hemodialysis treatment while adhering to our policies and procedures. Key responsibilities will include taking and monitoring patient vital signs, performing blood tests, documenting patient information, preparing and monitoring dialysis equipment, and ensuring the cleanliness of the equipment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience: Preferred one (1) year of medical experience
  • Education: High School Diploma, G.E.D. certificate, or equivalent
  • License/Certification:
  • Current CPR certification
  • BONENT/NNCC/NNCO certification required within 18 months from hire date
  • CDPH CHT certification required within 18 months from hire date (for applicable locations)

What We're Looking For:

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Genuine desire to work in healthcare and provide care for patients in need
  • Previous healthcare experience in dialysis, phlebotomy, or as a CNA is a plus

Additional Requirements:

  • Successful completion of the USRC training program approved by the Medical Director, demonstrating competency within 8 weeks of hire
  • Completion of the USRC training course in hemodialysis theory and practice within 8 weeks of hire
  • CPR certification required within 90 days of hire or as state-required
  • Obtain Patient Care Technician certification through an accredited program within 18 months of hire and maintain good standing
  • Ability to distinguish all primary colors
  • Comfortable with mixing acids and bicarbonate according to protocol
