We are seeking a Part Time Laundry Attendant / House Attendant to join our outstanding team. The right candidate will have morning availability on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays with the flexibility to work either Laundry or House Attendant shifts.

Our laundry attendants make sure we can provide clean and perfectly pressed linen to our Housekeeping and Food and Beverage departments. They operate the laundering machines to clean and press articles such as bed linens, towels, rags and work clothes by performing the duties listed to ensure the Hotel's high quality of standards are met, while following all safety requirements.

Our house attendant position makes sure we can provide clean linen to our housekeeping team and support the entire property operation by making sure our hotel is spotless and guest ready.

They ensure the cleanliness of guest floors, corridors, foyers, stairwells, staircases, patios, etc. and assist room attendants in order to maintain the Hotel's high standards of quality. They operate the laundering machines to clean articles such as bed linens, towels, and rags. They also operate a golf cart to make deliveries and adhere to safety requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Sorts all soiled articles using rubber gloves.
  • Loads articles into washer and adds specified amount of detergent, soap, or other cleaning agent. Turns valve to fill washer with water.
  • Starts machine that automatically washes and rinses articles.
  • Lifts clean, wet articles from washer and places them successively into wringers and driers for measured time cycles.
  • Sorts dried articles according to the linen or article type.
  • Folds and places items in the appropriate storage bin.
  • Follows all safety, hygiene and cleanliness protocols at all times.
  • Properly cleans all Laundry Machinery.
  • Sorts and counts articles to verify quantities on laundry lists.
  • Soaks contaminated articles in neutralizer solution to precondition articles for washing.
  • Mixes cleaning agents according to formula.
  • Visually inspect all laundered articles to ensure cleanliness and appearance.
  • Turn in all found items in the associates work area to the Housekeeping Manager.
  • Reports all items in the room that need repair to the Housekeeping Manager.
  • Keeps laundry area clean and organized.
  • Stocks linen and supplies into the linen rooms daily and keeps stock up throughout shift.
  • Vacuums and/or sweeps and waxes hallways, stairwells, staircases and foyers.
  • Cleans carpets, upholstered furniture and draperies as assigned
  • Cleans and removes spots from corridor walls and doors, polishes and cleans mirrors, windows, sills and all metal work including room numbers on the guestroom doors
  • Cleans and polishes all woodwork throughout the Hotel
  • Delivers baby cribs and rollaway beds to guestrooms. Makes up rollaway beds as needed
  • Obtains amenities and supplies for room attendants.
  • Replenishes bathroom supplies and cleans and stocks public area restrooms
  • Cleans ice machine areas, pickup trays, garbage and boxes as needed
  • Flips mattresses, moves furniture, hangs drapery, dusts venetian blinds as assigned by the supervisor
  • Completes any projects assigned by the supervisor.
  • Flexibility to work in either Laundry or as a house attendant based on the needs of the day
  • Empties all wastebaskets in all public areas and discards any additional trash throughout the Hotel
  • Washes floors, windows, dusts and scrubs areas as needed
  • Stocks Pool & Spa and cleans Spa rooms. Stocks spa and fitness center supplies as needed.
  • Respond in a timely manner to guest requests, such as additional room amenities, towels, instructions on how to operate equipment in the room and other information as requested.
  • Cleans and removes debris from driveway, parking garage/lot and outdoor areas. Blows off parking lot as needed
  • All other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the Hotel.

QUALIFICATIONS :
  • Very detail oriented, to ensure the quality of linen and how the linen is being processed.
  • Must be able to operate washers, dryers, ironer and steamer and able to detect problems with the machines
  • Able to maintain a good working relationship with other departments, associates and guests.
  • Able to communicate effectively with others.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Very detail oriented, to ensure the quality of cleanliness.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to print and speak simple sentences in English.
  • Able to maintain a good working relationship with other departments, associates and guests.
  • Meets legal age requirements for the position.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE :

Previous housekeeping/laundry experience is preferred. Any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skill and ability.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS :

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel and crouch. The associate must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and must be able to push and pull equipment weighing up to 100 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. The associate is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

GROOMING:

All associates must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance (specific standards available.)

PAY SCALE:

The pay scale for this position is $21-$21.50 per hour.
