Our client is seeking an IT Systems Engineer to be responsible for maintaining, supporting, and improving the organization's IT infrastructure and information systems. The position focuses on system management, vendor coordination, system upgrades, performance monitoring, and cross-functional support in areas like cybersecurity, networking, and support services

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide Tier 3 troubleshooting and support for complex system issues.
• Monitor, tune, and maintain physical and virtual server infrastructure.
• Collaborate with vendors and project teams to plan and implement new systems and upgrades.
• Deploy hardware, software, and firmware updates.
• Work closely with the networking team to address infrastructure and operational issues.
• Automate tasks using scripting/programming languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash).
• Participate in on-call duty rotations for after-hours support.
• Research and propose business solutions and emerging technologies to enhance operations.
• Develop and maintain thorough technical documentation for all information systems.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to work with Guests, Team Members, and Management.
• Highly motivated, goal-driven individual with strong collaboration and teamwork capabilities.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or equivalent; or 8+ years of relevant IS experience.
• In-depth understanding of Windows systems, SAN infrastructure, and physical/virtual server environments.
• Strong PC software skills including Microsoft OS, Office, and Visio (4+ years).
• Familiarity with networking concepts such as subnets, ACLs, port security, and VMware virtual networks.
• Strong performance under pressure in a team-centric environment.

PREFERRED:

• Knowledge of hyper-converged storage systems.
• Experience with automation tools like Chef, Puppet, or equivalent.
• Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, VMware).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• May be tasked with lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling up to 25 lbs., if able to do so.
• Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time and walk/stand for moderate periods of time.
• Must be able to bend at the knees and waist frequently
• Must be able to repetitively use a telephone and a computer mouse and keyboard.
