Job Title: IT Systems Engineer
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor, maintain, and optimize server systems and infrastructure (physical and virtual)
- Provide Tier 3 support and troubleshoot complex system issues
- Plan and implement new systems and upgrades in collaboration with vendors and project teams
- Automate tasks using scripting tools (PowerShell, Bash, etc.)
- Deploy and upgrade hardware, software, and firmware as needed
- Collaborate with networking and cybersecurity teams on infrastructure-related projects
- Maintain accurate technical documentation
- Participate in on-call support rotation and respond to after-hours issues
- Research and propose technology solutions to improve system performance and business efficiency
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience
- 8+ years of experience in systems administration or IT infrastructure roles
- 4+ years of experience with enterprise software and tools (e.g., Microsoft OS, MS Office, Visio)
- Strong understanding of Windows systems and SAN environments (hyper-converged storage is a plus)
- Familiarity with VMware and virtual network configurations
- Experience with scripting and automation tools (PowerShell, Bash, Chef, Puppet, etc.)
- Exposure to public/private cloud platforms like AWS, Microsoft Azure, or VMware
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Highly motivated and comfortable working in a team-driven environment
- Ability to perform well under pressure and manage multiple priorities
- Must be available for after-hours on-call rotation (Tier 2 support)
