The Systems Administrator plays a pivotal role in ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency of our organization's IT infrastructure. They are responsible for maintaining a diverse range of systems, including Azure cloud and on-premises servers, completing life cycle management of SAAS applications from deployment and provisioning, and working with vendors to ensure optimal performance. The Systems Administrator is the linchpin of our technology ecosystem. This position involves managing network connectivity between our offices, remote sites, and the cloud by administering and troubleshooting network switching, edge, and Wi-Fi appliances. In addition to infrastructure management, the Systems Administrator will collaborate closely with our security and development teams to implement and maintain best practices for a secure and agile IT environment. They serve as a key escalation point for our service desk, providing expert guidance and solutions to complex IT issues. This position is hybrid, based in Sonoma/Napa County. What We Will Ask You To Do Maintain and administer Azure cloud and on-premises servers to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security. Manage and oversee SAAS applications, including Office 365, email management platform, hosted PBX, endpoint management, and other software solutions, ensuring proper configuration, updates, and user access. Monitor and manage hosted storage solutions, including backups, data retention, and data recovery processes. Configure and troubleshoot network switching, edge, and Wi-Fi appliances to ensure seamless intra and inter site connectivity. Administer and maintain Okta for identity and access management, as well as Active Directory for user account management and security policies. Collaborate closely with the security team to implement and enforce IT security policies, including patch management, firewall rules, and intrusion detection systems. Work closely with the development team to support application deployment, integration, and performance tuning. Serve as an escalation point for the service desk team, providing expertise and guidance to resolve complex IT issues. Conduct on-site visits to branch locations to diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues such as network connectivity, Wi-Fi performance, and other issues that cannot be resolved remotely. Monitor and evaluate the IT environment to identify opportunities for improvements, efficiency enhancements, and cost savings. Document system configurations, procedures, and best practices to ensure knowledge transfer and compliance with industry standards. Stay current with emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in systems administration to drive innovation and efficiency within the organization. Participate in on-call rotation and responds to critical IT incidents and emergencies outside of regular business hours. What You Will Need 3-5 years of experience in systems administration, including cloud and on-premises environments preferred. Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field preferred. Familiarity with network administration and troubleshooting, with an emphasis on Cisco Meraki or similar networking technologies. Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator, CompTIA Network+, or Cisco Meraki certification a plus. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically to resolve complex technical issues. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical staff. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Proficiency in the entire Cisco Meraki stack, including Meraki switches, firewalls, access points, and dashboard administration. Experience with ManageEngine for IT management and monitoring. Knowledge and experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V. In-depth knowledge of Azure cloud (administration, including virtual machines, storage, and networking) and Azure Active Directory administration.
