Job Title: Senior Estimator
Job Location: Santa Rosa, CA
Salary: $140K-190K
Requirements: 5+ years of Heavy Civil Estimating Experience required. HCSS Heavybid and Agtek software experience required. Underground construction, transportation, Caltrans, Earthwork, paving, excavating experience.
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects, ensuring that all aspects of the project are considered and that estimates align with company objectives. This role requires a deep understanding of construction processes and methodologies, particularly in heavy civil and underground construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for various construction projects including earthwork, paving, and underground construction.
- Utilize software such as AGTEK, HCSS, and HeavyBid to create and manage estimates efficiently.
- Review project plans and specifications to identify scope, risks, and opportunities for cost savings.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to understand project requirements and constraints.
- Perform quantity take-offs and analyze material, labor, and equipment costs.
- Provide support during the bidding process, including clarification of bid proposals and negotiation with subcontractors.
- Maintain and update historical cost data to improve future estimates.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior estimators within the team.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in estimating within the construction industry, preferably in heavy civil or infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency in estimating software such as AGTEK, HCSS, and HeavyBid.
- Strong knowledge of AutoCAD for plan take-offs and design reviews.
- Experience with CALTRANS projects is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with earthwork, paving, and underground construction techniques.
