Job Description
The Manager, Technical Services (Rides & Attractions) is responsible for maintaining strategic and daily operational plans for Rides & Attractions within the Technical Services Department. The Manager provides technical guidance for all attractions under his or her area of responsibility. The Manager is responsible for the technical support of the successful specification, design, production, installation, and/or acceptance testing of the Ride & Attraction systems, including Audio, Special Effects, Projection, Lighting, Set/Scenic, Props, Show Action Equipment, Animated Figures, Ride Mechanical Systems, Ride Control, and Show Control Systems.
Responsibilities
- Ensures department understands and follows all company policies and procedures.
- Coordinates and assigns technicians to set up, install, repair, and maintain all equipment and venue operations.
- Maintains a documentation system for all attractions and ensures a daily report is completed for all activities performed during their assigned shift.
- Ensures all Ride & Attraction equipment maintains the highest level of safety in accordance with USH Policies, accepted manufacturing practices, and local standards.
- Provides technical guidance and mentoring to Ride & Attraction Technicians during installation, testing, and maintenance activities. Builds team cohesion and motivation within the Technical Services Team.
- Performs all technical oversight duties and responsibilities in the absence of technical support personnel.
- Oversees technical interactions with engineers, vendors, subcontractors, and other third parties involved with Ride & Attraction systems. Develops relationships with contractors to ensure clear communication during installation, testing, and maintenance.
- Enforces technical principles to ensure a quality product and deliverables to customers. Supports and advises management on engineering quality and risk areas.
- Upholds collective bargaining agreements by partnering with HR and Labor Relations to maintain positive union relationships.
- Develops and implements future success action plans, including training, workforce planning, and recognition programs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
This position offers benefits such as medical, dental, vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and other perks. Salary range: $80,000 - 110,000.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5-7 years of operational experience in a theme park, theatre, or related business.
- 3-5 years of management/team leadership experience or equivalent.
- Willingness to work weekends and holidays.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
