Abbott Rapid Diagnostics is part of Abbott's Diagnostics family of businesses, bringing together exceptional teams of experts and industry leading technologies to support diagnostic testing which provides important information for the treatment and management of diseases and other conditions. The position of Business Development Manager, Government Services, is within our Toxicology Business Unit. This position is responsible for developing and executing growth strategies by developing and maintaining relationships with new and existing customers while ensuring that customer needs, and company objectives are effectively met. We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to drive revenue growth by identifying new market opportunities, building client relationships, implementing strategies, understanding the competition, and relentlessly pursuing a positive customer experience. The ideal candidate will possess strong selling skills, a growth mindset, and the ability to identify and influence key decision-makers. Responsibilities include developing and executing strategic sales plans to achieve business objectives; identifying and building relationships with key decision-makers in target markets, including large federal, state and county-level government agencies; leading, mentoring, and managing sales and service teams to ensure high performance and alignment with company goals; monitoring market trends and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities; collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance customer experience and satisfaction; predicting sales revenue, tracking performance against targets and maintaining sales funnel and forecasting accuracy; setting and tracking sales targets, ensuring consistent achievement and reporting on progress; representing the company at industry events and networking opportunities to expand business reach. Key requirements include proven track record in sales and business development, strong selling skills, ability to identify, engage, and influence key decision-makers effectively, demonstrated leadership experience in managing sales and service teams, growth mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation, exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, customer-centric approach with a commitment to delivering exceptional experiences, experience working with government agencies and understanding of government procurement preferred, advanced PC skills with experience creating executive level presentation content, experience demonstrating influence and leadership skills to deliver programs and projects on time and within budget, experience presenting business insights to executive leaders, experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, ability to use analytical skills and financial acumen to influence positive business outcomes, and ability to travel domestically up to 50% of the time. Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field, minimum 7 years sales management experience, and minimum 10 years direct sales experience. MBA is strongly preferred.
