Senior Software Engineer (Healthcare)

San Francisco - Hybrid

$160,000 - $200,000 Salary

The Company:

Our client is a biotech startup focused on delivering actionable genetic insights through advanced sequencing and intuitive digital platforms.

Role/Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and deploy production-grade backend software in Python/Django
• Take ownership of key engineering components across the full development lifecycle
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, clinical, and data teams to bring new features to life
• Write clean, well-tested code and participate in design/code reviews
• Build APIs and internal tools that enable data access and clinical workflows
• Contribute to architectural decisions and mentor teammates

Required Qualifications

• Strong programming skills in Python, with professional experience using Django
• Track record of shipping high-quality, scalable applications
• Experience designing APIs and building backend services in production environments
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, containerization tools, and modern development tools
• Comfort navigating ambiguous requirements and startup environments
• Experience in healthcare, clinical, or genomics-related domains
• Familiar with healthcare standards (HL7/FHIR), LIMS, HIPAA-compliant environments
