Project Engineer - Mid-Size Public Works General Contractor

This position is with an established, family-owned Public Works Contractor specializing in DSA and K-12 projects across Northern California. We focus on design-build and lease lease-back projects for schools and universities, including Monterey Peninsula Unified School District, Berryessa Union School District, and others. Our expertise includes modular building projects, steel, concrete, tilt-up, and wood-framed constructions.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with project architects, designers, owners, and field personnel.
• Manage Request for Information (RFI) and submittals.
• Oversee project subcontractors.
• Ensure continuity of work as the information hub.
• Provide technical guidance to ensure compliance with codes, drawings, and specifications.
• Assist with change orders, material expediting, estimates, and project data analysis.
• Monitor and report on quality control metrics and activities.
• Inspect work for compliance with plans and specifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field.
• Experience in commercial construction with a General Contractor.
• Experience with DSA and K-12 projects, especially ground-up projects over $10M.
• Knowledge of construction principles, methods, and materials.
• Understanding of contracts, drawings, and specifications.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Procore, MS Project, or similar software.

Additional Details

Salary: $75,000 - $100,000 per year
