We are seeking a proactive Transportation Project Engineer/ Design Manager with the skills to help take our practice to the next level in the delivery of highways, interchanges, local roads, roundabouts, trails / active transportation, bridges, and other enriching and vital improvements.Through a broad network of clients, GHD has exposure to these transportation projects through Federal, State, Regional, County, and Municipal agencies and private sectors. You will work closely with our highly skilled multi-disciplinary teams throughout the organization and our clients to efficiently deliver projects and provide high value consultancy services.This position will be based out of any of our California offices, (Irvine, San Diego, Long Beach, Los Aneles, Concord, Santa Rosa, Roseville, Concord, San Francsico, ) but will be networked through our offices across the West Region with a focus on our offices in California.This position offers a unique opportunity to work on diverse projects, collaborate with talented professionals, and make a significant impact within our organization and the communities we serve.In an ever changing world, it requires creativity and innovation to stay ahead.We're seeking the curious, those who are stimulated by fresh thinking and a desire to shape our communities in new, positive ways.As part of a truly global team, working on complex and rewarding projects, you'll be at the forefront of driving changeSee what the power of commitment can do for you.Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:Technical Guidance and Project Oversight: Providing expertise and guidance on various engineering projects, with a focus on transportation systems, such as highways, roadways, and more.Design Delivery: Overseeing and leading the production of complex engineering designs, drawings, details, and specifications.Project Scope and Schedule Management: Assisting project managers in developing and managing project scopes, schedules, budgets, and quality plans. Your expertise will contribute to effective project planning and execution.Team Leadership: Leading a cohesive team, including subconsultants, to achieve project objectives, promoting collaboration, and creating a positive work environment.Coaching and Mentoring: Playing a crucial role in coaching and mentoring junior staff, helping them develop their skills and knowledge.Community and Professional Engagement: Actively engaging in community and professional organizations, representing our company and staying up-to-date with industry trends.Client Relationship Management: Actively participating in client relationship management, attending client meetings as needed.What you will bring to the team:Strong foundation and understanding of PS&E package development across multiple software design platforms – strong prior experience with both AutoCAD Civil 3D, and Microstation desired.A self-starter with excellent communication, time management and leadership skills.Knowledge of Caltrans and AASHTO guidelines and standards.Experience with local agency, state and federally funded transportation projects including projects delivered in partnership with Caltrans through their oversight process.Demonstrated ability to direct and delegate work assignments to others, ensuring efficient project execution, efficient delivery and schedule adherence.Capability to provide mentorship to staff within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team environment and knowledge with staff and peers.Ability to support development of project/client proposals and participate in interviews as needed.QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.Registered Civil Engineer in the State of California Required8+ years of experience with solid technical knowledge and skills across the transportation & municipal engineering, including a strong background in planning & design; construction experience a plus.Salary Range: $138,000-$207,000 based on experience and locationAs a multicultural organization, we encourage individual achievement and recognize the strength of a diverse workforce.
