General Purpose
The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate makes eye contact, smiles, and greets all Customers in a courteous and friendly manner, treats fellow Associates with respect, efficiently follows all company best practice standards as outlined in all work centers, maintains a clean work area at all times, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. The Retail Associate is expected to be engaged in these tasks as assigned during all working hours and will perform a range of functions in all areas of the Store as needed. Additional tasks may be assigned to help achieve customer service and operational goals.
Essential Functions
- Understand that safety is the number one priority and practice safe behaviors in all activities.
- Maintain a high level of awareness on the sales floor to create a safe shopping environment. Keep aisles clear, report unsafe conditions.
- Treat all Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy; be friendly and professional. Recognize fellow Associates using company recognition programs.
- Assist Customers as needed — be register-trained, help with merchandise, answer questions politely and knowledgeably. Greet customers with eye contact, smiles, and greetings like "hello" and "thank you" during transactions.
- Respond promptly and efficiently to Customer needs. Handle issues courteously, involving Store Leadership when necessary.
- Represent and support the Company brand consistently.
- Perform cleaning tasks to maintain store cleanliness, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, disinfecting high-touch areas, and replenishing supplies.
- Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to dress code.
- Ensure merchandise is well-organized and replenished, expedite receipt of new merchandise, and assist customers with product knowledge.
- Understand loss prevention policies, safeguard confidential information, and follow all inventory and cash handling procedures.
- Work efficiently to maximize productivity, minimize steps, and follow all store best practices.

Qualifications And Skills
- Effective communication with Customers, Associates, and Leadership in a friendly, respectful manner.
- Basic mathematical skills for retail transactions.
Physical Requirements / ADA
- Ability to use store equipment including registers, PDTs, and PCs.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the store up to 100% of the time.
- Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, reach, and lift over 25 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to work with janitorial and store equipment, including ladders and racks.
- For Stockroom shifts: ability to lift over 20 pounds regularly.

The base pay range is $17.97 - $18.47, depending on experience, skills, and location. This range is part of the total compensation package, which varies by position and location.
