Position: Recruiter

Location: Santa Rosa, CA (Hybrid)

Job Summary

Performs duties related to primary or specialty care physician recruitment and serves as a representative for Sutter Health and the assigned medical group(s). Manages the full recruitment cycle from sourcing to onboarding. Ensures compliance with all regulatory and legal standards. This description outlines the primary duties, responsibilities, and qualifications, but is not exhaustive.

Principal Job Accountabilities

  • Candidate Screening & Interviewing
  • Prescreens resumes based on predefined qualifications.
  • Conducts phone screens and communicates findings to hiring leaders.
  • Promotes the medical group's quality, culture, and reputation to candidates.
  • Educates candidates on local community, cost of living, and hiring process expectations.
  • Recruitment Strategy & Coordination
  • Coordinates recruitment strategy meetings to gather departmental needs and profile requirements.
  • Tracks candidates through the recruitment process and supports contract drafting and issuance.
  • Collects salary expectations and provides market data to physician leaders.
  • Extends and negotiates offer letters with candidates.
  • Vendor & Contract Management
  • Negotiates contracts with external search firms.
  • Stays informed on agency fees and performance, ensuring cost-effective solutions.
  • Evaluates and renews agency contracts annually as needed.
  • Shares agency performance insights across regions.
  • Professional Communication & Confidentiality
  • Demonstrates strong guest relations skills with internal and external contacts.
  • Maintains confidentiality and handles sensitive information with discretion.
  • Coordinates with multiple departments to ensure a smooth recruitment process.
  • Responds promptly and professionally to all inquiries.

Education

  • Required: Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Healthcare, or related field
  • (Equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.)

Typical Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant recent experience in physician or healthcare recruitment.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Basic understanding of human resource principles and policies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and advanced Outlook use.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and shift priorities as needed.
  • High attention to confidentiality, especially regarding physician salary information.
  • Self-motivated and capable of independently managing projects and timelines.
