Cogir Senior Living is hiring an experienced, diligent, and energetic Maintenance Director in our premier retirement community, Cogir of Rohnert Park.

Our Maintenance Director will be responsible for the day-to-day physical plant operations of the community while ensuring compliance with safety standards. They will maintain the structural integrity of the building and oversee general maintenance issues, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, major appliances, and amenities. They will also manage preventative maintenance programs and supervise the facility department staff.

What will you do as a Maintenance Director?

  • Use general maintenance equipment including hand tools, ladders, refrigerant recovery units, landscaping equipment, and safety gear.
  • Organize, prioritize, and ensure timely completion of service requests and repairs.
  • Inspect grounds, buildings, and community features daily to minimize liability and maintain curb appeal.
  • Perform turnkey work and ensure vacant units are ready promptly.
  • Maintain excellent customer service and communicate effectively with residents, staff, vendors, and management.
  • Work with the Executive Director to obtain bids for maintenance expenses.
  • Adhere to budget guidelines.
  • Purchase supplies and vendor services using proper procedures.
  • Monitor inventory levels of parts and supplies.
  • Hire, train, and manage Maintenance Technicians and Housekeeping staff.
  • Respond to community emergencies.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, SDS, OSHA, EPA regulations, and fire codes.
  • Conduct regular inspections and execute necessary corrections.

Qualifications

  • A positive team player mentality and passion for serving seniors!
  • Minimum 3 years of experience managing apartments, senior living, or large complexes.
  • An associate degree or higher from a college or technical school.
  • Strong customer skills and technical maintenance expertise.
  • Experience with HVAC, electrical, drywall repair, carpentry, plumbing, painting, and general maintenance.
  • Ability to use maintenance tools and participate in on-call rotations.
  • A valid state driver's license is required.
  • Experience in commercial property, hotel, independent living, assisted living, memory care, or senior living is a plus!
